    Organizational Structure:

     

    The Counsel reports to the VP, General Counsel & Secretary.  

    Responsibilities

    • Independently draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts with vendors, customers, consultants and others as the go-to resource for all commercial matters in support of the Company's overall business
    • Independently maintain the Company’s trademark portfolio in-house and manage the Company’s brand protection efforts
    • Assist in various projects involving SEC law, employment law, real estate, litigation and other matters
    • Independently provide clear direction to business partners, at all levels, across the organization to drive business objectives while minimizing legal risk
    • Assist General Counsel in monitoring and updating compliance programs and corporate policies
    • Assist General Counsel in designing and implementing legal process improvements
    • Manage outside counsel
    • Respond promptly and independently to requests for legal review from all departments

    Qualifications

    • Law degree from a top accredited law school
    • Eligible to practice law in NY
    • At least 3-5 years of experience with a major law firm, engaged in commercial and/or intellectual property practice, having familiarity with public company clients; and/or with an in-house legal department preferably at a public company working in a team environment, focused on commercial and/or intellectual property matters
    • Significant experience with fashion retail companies is preferred
    • Litigation experience is a plus
    • Excellent attention to detail, oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
    • Must have strong work ethic, focus, sound judgment and discretion.
    • Must be able to work effectively across multiple functions and levels within the organization.
    • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must have a high level of personal integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
    • Personal interest in fashion

     

    Compensation
