Position Summary: 

 

The participants in our Summer Internship program will gain immersive departmental experience. The opportunity is intended for rising seniors who are interested in beginning their careers in the world of luxury fashion. With an emphasis on learning, these positions will offer the opportunity to work as an integral part of our business. Throughout the 10- week process, the program will enable students to recognize the valuable efforts that are made in each department, contributing to the overall success of the brand in our NY and LA corporate offices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Merchandising
  • Partner with corporate merchandising team and merchandise planning teams in communicating to the global business 
  • Maintain and update Stat books with product images, buys, retails and margins.
  • Assist in daily maintenance of the business including updating line lists and communicating change management to cross-functional teams.
  • Understand product trends, historical data and departmental input at category/class level in order to manage in-season opportunities or risks. 
  • Understand competitive environment; proactively see market knowledge through exposure to competitive retail outlets. 
  • Influence others to achieve results. 
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams (Design, Production, Planning, and Distribution).
  • Establish and grow a strong level of communication and partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in preparing for key meetings such as adoption and line opening.
  • Maintain and update various systems - line management and ordering/tracking samples 
  • Receipt reconciliation 

Qualifications

  • Major in a related field
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited college or university 
  • Rising Senior required
  • Must be able to work 30 hours a week 
  • Effective project management skills are necessary 
  • Computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook calendar management
  • Self motivated, ability to multi- task, critical thinking, problem solving skills, initiative, drive, common sense, creativity and flexibility are essential 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
